The Italian Awakening
Mark’s wife of fifty-two years died, leaving him depressed and with failing health. After a heart attack and cancer surgery, assisted living was looming. His life took a turn for the better when he accepted a niece’s invitation to visit her in Italy. Mark was smitten with Italy. He roamed the streets of Udine and Fruili while exploring their treasures, and he became interested in Italian history and art. His daily walking tours, local cuisine, and wine slowly improved his health. When he first saw the rolling hills, villages, and vineyards of Tuscany, Mark knew this was where he wanted to spend the rest of his life. He bought a villa and became a Tuscan gentleman. He fell in love with Angela Rizzo, thirty years his junior. Angela and Mark toured the Tuscany towns, famous restaurants, and attractions. If you enjoy Italian food, wine, famous places, and upper age romance, you will love this book. This book is partly based on the author’s life in Italy.
